What We Believe

God Exists
Each Person Alive is an eternal soul & will live forever
God created everything and everyone
God created each person as an eternal being
God planned for us to be with Him and share in every good thing
God allowed free will
We chose to sin – even though sin leads to death and eternal suffering
Once we sinned we could not save ourselves from the destiny we had chosen
Sin transforms our eternal existence to one without anything good
Examples of a place without anything good are loneliness, longing, suffering, fear, pain
God loves us
God is just and perfect
The only payment for sin is blood and death
God paid that price so that at least some of us could be saved because God loves us
Therefore there is only one way to be saved
Jesus Christ alone
God spoke to us by His Word the Bible so that we know the Truth
We therefore can have a hope and a good future
We can go to Heaven as God originally wanted and planned for us
This is the Gospel – this is the Good News!

Why We Believe What We Believe

1. The Bible, also known as The Holy Scriptures, is the very Word of God, without error in the original
writings. God is all powerful and sovereign. Therefore, even today the Bible accurately tells us the will
and word of the one and only God. God the Holy Spirit guided men of old to write what was written and
the Scriptures are the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final
authority for Christian faith and life. The Bible’s teaching and authority is absolute, understood on the
basis of authorial intent, defined as a hermeneutically literal means of interpreting the Scriptures.
2Timothy 3:16; Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32; Matthew 24:35; 2 Peter 1:21; Hebrews 4:12; Revelation
22:18,19
 2. In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son
and Holy Spirit, commonly described as the Trinity. God is the creator of all that exists, the only absolute
sovereign ruler, eternal, perfect, all powerful, good, just, the only savior, and the giver of all good things.
There is none that compare to Him and He reveals Himself to us (His creation) by both evidence in His
created world and by His revealed Word, the Bible. There are no other gods and no other "forces" by
which anything exists. Isaiah 40:28; Romans 1:20-25; Genesis 1-2; Isaiah 40:28; 43:11; 44:6; 45:7; James
1:17; Psalm 19:1
 3. That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the
Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the only acceptable and sufficient sacrifice for sin according to the
Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the
Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. He is Truth. John 1:1-17; 14:6; 18:37; Hebrews
1:1-12; 9:14; 10:5-14; Colossians 1:13-23; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 6:13-16; 1 Thessalonians 4:14;
Acts 2:32-33; 10:38-43; Romans 8:34; 1 Peter 3:18
4. That the Holy Spirit is true God. His work on Earth includes: to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ; to bring
and interpret God’s Word to mankind; to allow the working of what we call miracles; and during this
age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, and indwell, guide, instruct and empower
the believer for godly worship, living and service. A man or woman who is a true Christian is in fact
sealed with the Holy Spirit, thereby guaranteeing their salvation from eternal punishment and their
eternal dwelling with God. John 15:26; 16:13-14; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:26-27; 1 Corinthians 2:12-14; 3:16;
12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14
 5. That water baptism and the Lord's Supper are both commands and teachings of God for all believers.
These are part of the mystery of God. God works through these commands and mysteries to accomplish
His purposes in the life of each believer. They are, however, not the means of salvation. Matthew 28:18-
20; Romans 6:3-7; Colossians 2:11-12; 1 Peter 3:18-22; 1 Corinthians 11:23-34; John 6:48; Luke 22:19-20;
Mark 14:22-24; Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17
 6. That the true Church is composed of all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been
regenerated by the Holy Spirit and united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head. The
church has a clear mission of unity, of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Truth, and of training
and equipping believers to do the work God has prepared for them to do. Each member of the church
has a vital role to play as each member is uniquely gifted by God to minister in God’s church. Each
member is called to be holy, to live a pure, blameless life, and to be at peace. The believer is to grow in
faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, brotherly kindness, and love. In order to
encourage and exhort believers according to the commands of our Lord we will exercise spiritual
discipline as outlined in the Bible if necessary. Matthew 16:13-18; 18:15ff; Hebrews 10:19- 25; Ephesians
1:5,22-23; 2:10,18-22; 4:11-14 1 Peter 1:5-8, 15-16; 2 Peter 3:11-14
 7. In the personal premillennial and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. The "Blessed Hope" of His
return has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer. Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16;
20:4; 22:20; Hebrews 9:28
 8. That Satan, the Devil, is a very real being. He along with the angels that chose to follow him,
sometimes called demons, are our enemies and seek our harm. 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9; John 8:44;
Ephesians 2:1-2
 9. In the resurrection of the dead; the believers to everlasting joy and peace with the Lord; and
unbelievers to everlasting conscious punishment. The Bible teaches that eternal punishment will be in a
place called The Lake of Fire which was created for Satan and those angels who followed him. Humans
who pass into eternity without accepting God’s gift of forgiveness also go to that Lake of Fire. Revelation
20:11-15; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10; Matthew 25:41, 46; John 3:15-21; Luke 3:16-17
